Quinton “Rampage” Jackson injured and out of UFC 153 co-main event

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has suffered an injury and is out of his UFC 153 co-main event against Glover Teixeira.

The news of the injury was reported by UFC President Dana White and a replacement for Jackson against Teixeira is not known at this time.

According to Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com, Jackson suffered an injury to his elbow which caused him to pull out of the fight.

UFC 153 takes place on October 13th at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and will be headlined by Jose Aldo defending his UFC featherweight title against former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.

Jackson (32-10) has been out of action since UFC 144 in February and has recently returned to training after having surgery on both of his knees. He currently has one fight left on his UFC contract and has maintained that he will leave the UFC once he finishes out his contract.
