Sara McMann makes Strikeforce debut against Liz Carmouche

Strikeforce recently announced they had signed Invicta FC bantamweight Sara McMann and she will make her debut on November 3rd against Liz Carmouche.

The news of the fight was originally reported by Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting and McMann confirmed the fight on her Twitter.

McMann (6-0) is an Olympic Silver Medalist in wrestling and made her debut last year. She has competed in Titan Fighting Championship, Pro Elite and Invicta FC in her short career. Her last two fights have come in Invicta FC with decision victories over Shayna Baszler and Hitomi Akano.

Carmouche (7-2) is a former title contender in the Strikeforce bantamweight division and is currently on a two fight winning streak. Both of her recent wins have come in Invicta FC and her most recent victory came against Kaitlin Young by submission at Invicta FC 2.

The winner of the fight will likely be in line for a title shot against current women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.

Strikeforce: Cormier vs. Mir takes place on November 3rd from the Chesapeake Engergy Arena in Oklahoma City and be headlined by a three round heavyweight bout between Daniel Cormier and Frank Mir.
