Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker made the fight announcement on his Twitter earlier today and it’s unknown if the fight will take place on the main or preliminary card.

Kennedy (14-4) has gone 5-2 in his Strikeforce career with both losses being in middleweight title fights.

He is coming off a lost to current champion Luke Rockhold, where he was defeated by unanimous decision.

Smith (10-2) has won two of his three fights in Strikeforce and recently won a fight outside of Strikeforce and nine of his ten victories are by submission.

The Strikeforce card on November 3rd will take place from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City and was scheduled to be headlined by Daniel Cormier taking on former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir. However, Mir pulled out of the fight this week and Strikeforce has not announced a new opponent for Cormier.
