The second fight on the Facebook portion of the UFC 152 card will be in the bantamweight division as Mitch Gagnon (8-2) meets Walel Watson (9-4).
Both fighters will enter this fight coming off a lost and Watson is currently on a two fight losing streak after winning his UFC debut last year.
Watson made his debut in October of last year and scored a TKO victory in the first round against Joseph Sandoval. Since that fight, he has been defeated by Yves Jabouin and T.J. Dillashaw. Both of the losses were by decision, but was dominated by Dillashaw in his last fight.
Watson is known for his submission victories as seven of his nine victories have come by submission. He has finished his opponents with a guillotine, rear-naked, anaconda and triangle choke.
Gagnon started his career with eight wins in his first nine fights before being signed by the UFC. He was expected to make his UFC debut at UFC on FOX 2, but his bout was canceled when he had visa issues.
He ended up making his UFC debut in July at UFC 149 in Calgary and was defeated by Bryan Caraway in the second round by submission. Even though he lost, the UFC awarded him with the fight of the night bonus and will look for his first UFC victory on Saturday night.
Just like Watson, Gagnon is known for his submission finishes as all eight of his victories are by submission. Five of his eight submission victories are by guillotine choke and has also finished his opponents by rear-naked choke.
Both fighters will attempt to stay out of each others submission game and this fight could end up being a stand up battle. Watson has a slight experience edge in the fight and Gagnon will be fighting in his home country.
TheMMAReport.com gives the edge to Gagnon in this fight and expect this fight to go the full three rounds.
