UFC 152 Preliminary Card Preview: Seth Baczynski vs. Simeon Thoresen

The final preliminary bout on the Facebook portion of the UFC 152 card will be a welterweight bout as Seth Baczynski (16-6) meets Simeon Thoresen (17-2-1).

Both fighters enter this fight on a multiple fight win streak and will look to take another step up the welterweight rankings in the UFC.

Baczynski was a contestant on season eleven of “The Ultimate Fighter” and was released by the company after his lost to  Brad Tavares at the live finale.

After winning two straight fights after his release, the UFC brought him back in September of last year. Since returning to the UFC, he has won three in a row and the most recent victory came against Lance Benoist at UFC on FX 3 in South Florida.

Thoresen entered the UFC earlier this year after being the UWC welterweight champion and made his debut at UFC on FUEL TV 2 in Sweden. His debut came against Besam Yousef and he won the fight in the second round with a rear-naked choke submission. This was his 15th career victory by submission and his last six submission victories are by rear-naked choke.

Both fighters like to take the fight to the ground and work their submission games. Both guys do not like to stay on their feet and strike, so the key will be which fighter can gain the advantage on the ground. Baczynski has been submitted in his career, but not since 2008 and Thoresen has only been defeated by knockout and decision.

TheMMAReport.com gives an edge to Thoresen in the fight and predicts that he will finish the fight with a rear-naked choke submission in the third round.
