Brett Rogers will be looking for a quick finish on Friday night

Former Strikeforce heavyweight title contender Brett Rogers (12-4, 1NC) is one of the eight quarter finalist in this season’s Bellator heavyweight tournament and recently moved his training to American Top Team in Florida.

In the quarterfinals, he will be taking on Alexander Volkov (16-3) at Friday night’s Bellator 75 in Hammond, Indiana.

With this being a tournament style fight, Rogers told “Inside MMA” on AXS TV that fans can expect to see the old Brett Rogers.

“I want to go out there and capture a win as soon as possible,” Rogers said. “You know what that means. I’m going to go and be in his face. You are definitely going to see the old school Brett Rogers coming this weekend.”

He started his career with 10 straight victories and all of the victories were by knockout in the first or second round. Since then, he is 2-4, 1NC and made his Bellator debut earlier this year.

With a new frame of mind and new skills he is learning, Rogers is hoping that the Bellator heavyweight title is in his near future.
