The injury bug has once again hit Strikeforce has Luke Rockhold has reportedly suffered a wrist injury and is out of his next title defense on November 3rd against Lorenz Larkin.
The news of the injury was first reported by TheMMACorner.com and then was reported late last night on MMAFighting.com.
Rockhold was scheduled to take on Lorenz Larkin in the co-main event, which would have been his third title defense of the Strikeforce middleweight title.
This is the second major injury to hit Strikeforce’s next scheduled show, which is scheduled to take place on November 3rd at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.
The fight card is expected to be headlined by Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix winner Daniel Cormier, but he is currently without an opponent with former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir pulling out of the bout with a knee injury.
With Rockhold reportedly out of this fight card, Strikeforce will have to scramble to save this fight card. The organization was forced to cancel their last card because their broadcast partner Showtime decided they did not want to show the September 29th show when lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez had to pull out of the fight with an injury.
Strikeforce has not officially announced it Rockhold is out of the event at this time and the organization is once again potentially looking at another canceled show.
