After his fight with Jeremy Stephens was canceled, Yves Edwards was told by UFC President Dana White that he would get him a fight soon and White has given him a new opponent.
Edwards will be taking on John Cholish at UFC on FOX 5, which takes place on December 8th in Seattle.
The news of the fight was initially reported by MMAFighting.com and Edwards has confirmed the report on MMA Junkie Radio.
Edwards (41-18-1) has won three of his last five fights since coming back to the UFC and his last lost was a close decision lost to Tony Ferguson at last years TUF Finale in December. He was scheduled to face off against Donald Cerrone earlier this year, but he had to pull out of the fight and then the situation with his opponent last week happened.
Cholish (8-2) made his UFC debut last December and defeated Mitch Clarke by TKO in the second round at UFC 140. His second appearance in the UFC, he took on Danny Castillo at UFC on FOX 3 and lost by decision.
UFC on FOX 5 takes place on December 8th from KeyArena in Seattle and will be headlined by Benson Henderson defending the UFC lightweight title against Nate Diaz.
