Bryan Caraway injured and Mike Easton now faces Raphael Assuncao at UFC on FOX 5

An injury has forced Bryan Caraway off the UFC on FOX 5 card against Mike Easton and Raphael Assuncao will step in to face Easton.

UFC officials announced the change on Wednesday and the fight will take place on the preliminary card on the UFC Facebook page.

Easton (13-1) is now on his third opponent for the first card, with the previous opponents being Caraway and T.J. Dillashaw. He is currently on a eight fight winning streak, which includes winning his first three fights in the UFC.

Prior to entering the UFC, he scored a victory over John Dodson, who is the current number one contender in the UFC flyweight division. He is coming off a win over Ivan Menjivar at UFC 148 and is one of the top contenders in the UFC bantamweight division.

Assuncao (17-4) is currently on a two fight winning streak after dropping losing his first fight in the UFC to Erik Koch. During his recent winning streak, he has wins over Johnny Eduardo and Issei Tamura.

UFC on FOX 5 takes place on December 8th from KeyArena in Seattle and will be headlined by Benson Henderson defending the UFC lightweight title against Nate Diaz.
