Earlier today, it was revealed that Anthony Perosh suffered a toe injury in training that forced him out of his UFC on FX 6 bout against Joey Beltran.
The UFC didn’t take long in finding a new opponent as they announced that Igor Pokrajac will replace Perosh against Beltran.
The fight will take place on the preliminary card and the UFC has not announced the broadcast plans for the preliminary card.
Pokrajac (25-9) has gone 4-4 in his UFC career and has won three of his last four fights, with two of those three recent wins coming by knockout.
In his last fight at UFC 152, he entered the cage riding a three fight winning streak but was defeated by Vinny Magalhaes in the second round by submission. The lost was the first time he lost by submission in the UFC and the first time since 2007.
Beltran (14-6) recently returned to the UFC this summer after he was released after UFC on FOX 2 in January. In his first stint with the UFC, he was a heavyweight and returned to the organization as a light heavyweight. In his UFC light heavyweight debut, he was defeated by unanimous decision against James Te Huna and the fight was awarded the fight of the night bonus.
UFC on FX 6 takes place on December 14th at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Broadbeach, Gold Coast, Australia and will be headlined by a lightweight bout between George Sotiropoulos and Ross Pearson, who are the coaches in TUF: The Smashes.
