The UFC has added a heavyweight bout to UFC on FOX 6 on January 26th in Chicago as Shawn Jordan will meet Mike Russow.
UFC officials announced the fight on late Wednesday night and the fight will take place on the preliminary card.
Jordan (13-4) came over to the UFC from Strikeforce earlier this year and won his UFC debut against Oli Thompson at UFC on FX 2, which he won by TKO in the second round.
He returned at UFC 149 and was an injury replacement for Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira against Cheick Kongo and was defeated by unanimous decision. He has won four of his last six fights and all four of those wins were by either TKO or submission.
Russow (15-2, 1NC) will be fighting in his hometown of Chicago once again, where he is a full time police officers with the Chicago Police Department. He opened his UFC career with four straight wins, which included a knockout of the night bonus win over over Todd Duffee at UFC 114.
His last fight took place at UFC 147 in the co-main event against Fabricio Werdum, which was the biggest fight of his career. He would end up losing to Werdum in the first round by TKO and it was his first lost since 2007.
UFC on FOX 6 takes place on January 26th from the United Center in Chicago and will be headlined by Demetrious Johnson defending the UFC flyweight title for the first time as he is challenged by John Dodson.
