The UFC and FOX are about to begin their second year together and both companies have announced the broadcast plans for the four UFC shows on the network television station for next year.
“2013 is shaping up to be a huge year for the UFC and we can’t wait to bring more great fights to FOX!” said UFC President Dana White. “We’re going to continue to take the UFC all over the world putting on the biggest and best fights. FOX is an amazing broadcast partner and we’re going to do some big things next year.”
The first UFC on FOX show in 2013 will take place on January 26th at the United Center in Chicago, which hosted UFC on FOX 2 last year. It’s believe that one of the fights that the UFC is targeting to have on this card will be a title eliminator fight in the lightweight division with the last WEC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis taking on Donald Cerrone.
The other dates for the UFC on FOX shows next year will be April 20th, July 27th and December 14th. The April 20th show will be a week before a pay-per-view card, which will be headlined by Jon Jones defending the UFC light heavyweight title against Chael Sonnen.
Also in today’s press release, the UFC announced that the January 19th fight card in Brazil that will be headlined by Vitor Belfort taking on Michael Bisping will be UFC on FX and thee first FUEL TV fight card will be an international show on February 16th.
