Following the conclusion of Bellator 83, the organization held a press conference to discuss the fight card and the cancellation of the card main event because of Shahbulat Shamhalaev coming down with food poisoning. 
Bellator Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney gave a timeline of events about how he found out about the bout being canceled by the commission.
Also, he stated he is hopeful that the fight can take place next week at Bellator 84, but he will have to talk to both fighters before making that official.
