UFC officials announced the event on Saturday and it will take place from the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden which was the same venue that the UFC held a fight card in last year.

“Sweden is an incredible market for the UFC and we’re excited to once again bring a major UFC card to the Ericsson Globe Arena,” Garry Cook, UFC Executive Vice President and Managing Director EMEA, said. “Alexander Gustafsson is a big star in Sweden and has quickly grown in popularity worldwide thanks to his success in the Octagon. We know the fans in Sweden will make the Ericsson Globe Arena an absolutely electric atmosphere as he takes on the very talented Gegard Mousasi on April 6.”

Gustafsson (15-1) is currently on a six fight winning streak and his only lost in the UFC came in his second fight with the organization when he was defeated by Phil Davis at UFC 112. He then headlined the first UFC event in Sweden last year and defeated Thiago Silva. The biggest win of his career came last month at UFC on FOX 5 when he defeated former UFC champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.

Mousasi (33-3-2) will be making his UFC debut on this fight card and is a veteran of Pride, DREAM and Strikeforce. He won the light heavyweight title in DREAM and Strikeforce and is 5-0-1 in his last six fights. His most recent win came last weekend at the Strikeforce finale when he defeated Mike Kyle by submission in the first round. The win was his 11th career win by submission and it was his 26th win that has come in the first round.
