The co-main event for UFC 159 has been announced and it’s a middleweight bout as Michael Bisping will face Alan Belcher.
The bout was initially reported by ESPN and the fight has been confirmed by UFC officials.
Bisping (23-5) is coming off a knockout lost to Vitor Belfort at UFC on FX 7 earlier this month. If he won the fight, he would have received a title shot against middleweight champion Anderson Silva. He has gone 5-2 in his last seven fights, but has lost two of his last three.
Belcher (18-7) will also enter this fight coming off a lost, as he was defeated at UFC 155 against Yushin Okami. Prior to his fight against Okami, he had won four in a row with all of the victories coming by either TKO or submission.
UFC 159 takes place on April 27th at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and the current fight card is below:
Jon Jones (17-1) vs. Chael Sonnen (27-12-1)
