An injury has forced Justin Edwards off next month’s UFC on FUEL TV 7 card in England and Jorge Santiago will return to the UFC to face Gunnar Nelson.
UFC officials announced the change on Wednesday and the fight is likely to take place on the main card on FUEL TV.
Santiago (25-10) has won back to back fights since being released from the UFC, with both wins coming in Titan Fighting Championships. This will be his third stint with the company and his overall UFC record is 1-4 with his only UFC victory coming against Justin Levens at Ultimate Fight Night 5.
Nelson (10-0-1) was signed by the UFC on 2012 and made his debut against DaMarques Johnson at UFC on FUEL TV 5. He won by a rear-naked choke submission in the first round and it was his fifth straight victory by submission. Nine of his ten victories are in the first round and the only time he went to the third round was in his professional debut, which was a draw.
UFC on FUEL TV 7 takes place on February 16th from Wembley Arena in London and will be headlined by Renan Barao defending the UFC interim bantamweight title against Michael McDonald.
