UFC on FX 7 takes place next Saturday night in Brazil and the UFC has announced that Roger Hollett and George Roop are off the card due to injuries and the organization has found new opponents for Wagner Prado and Yuri Alcantara.
Replacing Hollett against Prado will be Yuri’s older brother Ildemar Alcantara and replacing Roop will be Pedro Nobre against Yuri.
UFC officials announced the change on Wednesday and both fights will take place on the preliminary card, which will be shown on FUEL TV and Facebook.
Ildemar (17-5) is currently on a seven fight winning streak and six of those wins have come in the first round, with four of them coming by TKO/KO. After starting his career 6-4, he has gone 11-1 in his last 12, with the only lost in this time period coming in 2011 against Marcelo Guimaraes by decision.
Prado (8-1, 1NC) was signed by the UFC last year and made his debut against Phil Davis at UFC on FOX 4. The fight was declared a no contest after Davis accidentally poked him in the eye and he was unable to continue. They had their rematch at UFC 153 and Davis won the fight in the second round with a submission.
Nobre (14-1-2) will be making his UFC debut next week and is currently on a two fight winning streak. He has only gone to a decision three times in his career and nine of his career victories are by TKO/KO.
Yuri (27-4) made his UFC debut in 2011 and won his first two fights in the organization with decision victories over Felipe Arantes and Michihiro Omigawa. His last fight took place at UFC 147 and he was defeated by unanimous decision against Hacran Dias.
UFC on FX 7 takes place on January 19th in Sao Paulo, Brazil and will be headlined by a five round middleweight bout as Vitor Belfort takes on Michael Bisping, who can earn a title shot against Anderson Silva with a victory.
