Aaron Simpson vs. Josh Burkman added to WSOF 2

A welterweight bout has been added to World Series of Fighting 2 on March 23rd at Revel Atlantic City as former UFC fighters Aaron Simpson and Josh Burkman will meet on the main card on the NBC Sports Network.WSOF #2

World Series of Fighting officials announced the fight booking on Wednesday and this fight completes the main card on NBC Sports Network.

“We are excited to bring the World Series of Fighting brand of MMA to Atlantic City, where some of the greatest fights in history have taken place,” said World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo. “Andrei Arlovski, Anthony Johnson and Marlon Moraes are all coming off superb performances on our inaugural fight card, and Tyson Nam has been on fire of late, so we felt that it was essential to showcase these stars at the top of our first card on the East Coast.”

Simpson (12-4) is a former UFC fighter and he went 7-4 in the organization. After winning six of his first eight fights in the UFC, he lost two of his next three and went 1-1 as a welterweight. His last fight in the UFC came at UFC on FX 5 and was defeated by knockout against Mike Pierce.

Burkman (24-9) is also a former UFC fighter and has won five of his six fights since being released by the UFC. He was on the debut show for WSOF and defeated Gerald Harris by unanimous decision.

World Series of Fighting 2 will take place on March 23rd from Revel Atlantic City and will be headlined by a heavyweight bout as former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski meets Anthony Johnson.
