Bellator MMA will be returning to Florida on March 28th at the USF Sun Dome, which is on the campus of the University of South Florida and the fight card will feature two tournament finals.
The card will feature the finals of this seasons featherweight and lightweight tournament, along with the return of Jessica Aguilar.
“We had an outstanding night of fights in our first visit to The Sun Dome, and expect nothing less March 28th live on Spike,” said Bellator Chairman & CEO Bjorn Rebney. “With two Tournament Final fights, as well as the return of Jessica Aguilar, our Florida faithful are in for a huge night of fights.”
The featherweight and lightweight tournaments are currently in the semifinal stage and the lightweight tournament final will be decided in two weeks at Bellator 90 in New Mexico with Will Brooks meeting Saad Awad and David Rickels facing Jason Fischer.
One of the featherweight quarterfinals will also be on that card as Marlon Sandro takes on Frodo Khasbulaev. The other featherweight semifinal bout is Mike Richman meeting Alexandre “Popo” Bezerra and Bellator has not announced when that fight will take place.
Aguilar (14-4) is considered the top 115 pound women’s fighter in the world and is a submission specialist. She is currently on a five fight winning streak, which includes wins over Megumi Fujii, Carla Esparza and Lisa Ellis. She has not been in the Bellator cage since May of last year and is looking forward to the opportunity to step back in and show she is the best female fighter in the world.
