Aldo told Tatame earlier today that he felt that Ricardo Lamas deserve the title shot because he has proven himself in the division and is coming off a victory against Erik Koch.

Aldo was scheduled to defend his title against Koch last year, but the fight was scratched on two occasions because of injuries to the fighters.

Now, White has confirmed that Aldo has agreed to face the former WEC lightweight champion on a Metro PCS Chat on Monday evening.

At the beginning of the chat, Dana said he would be calling Aldo’s manager, Andre Pederneiras later tonight to discuss the fight. There was technical difficulties with the chat as it was scheduled to take place and White talked to Pederneiras when the chat was offline. When they came back from the chat, White said the fight is done and they will face each other in August.

The fight will be for the featherweight title and is expected to headline UFC 163 on August 3rd at a venue and city to be determined. Potential venues for the fight include Chicago, Las Vegas, Texas and Rio de Janeiro.
