Tiger Sarnavskiy out of lightweight tournament and semifinals set for Bellator 91

Alexander “Tiger” Sarnavskiy has fractured his hand and is out of the Bellator lightweight tournament and replacing him in the semifinals will be Jason Fischer. Bellator 91

Bellator MMA Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney announced the change today and Sarnavskiy injured the hand during his quarterfinal bout win over Thiago Michel.

David Rickels will now face Fischer at Bellator 91 on February 28th in New Mexico in one of the lightweight tournament semifinals and the other semifinal bout will also take place on the same fight card as Will Brooks faces Saad Awad.

Both of the tournament semifinal fights will take place on the main card on Spike TV.

Fischer (6-1) has won three of his four fights in Bellator, which includes a submission win over Sevak Magakian at Bellator 87. His only career lost was against Rickels at Bellator 82 last year, which he was defeated by unanimous decision.

Bellator 91 will take place from the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico and will be headlined by Christian M’Pumbu defending the Bellator light heavyweight title against 2012 Summer Series tournament winner Attila Vegh.
