The UFC lost the main event for the Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale yesterday when Demetrious Johnson pulled out of the card with an injury and it didn’t take them long to find a new main event.
UFC President Dana White announced on Twitter that former WEC champion Urijah Faber will face Scott Jorgensen on April 13th in Las Vegas.
Faber (27-6) won last weekend at UFC 157 when he submitted Ivan Menjivar in the first round. It was his third win in the UFC and he has won four of his last six fights. It was his second submission win in the UFC and five of his last six wins are by submission.
Jorgensen (14-6) recently snapped a two fight losing streak at UFC on FOX 5 with a submission win over John Albert. He won the submission of the night bonus, along with the fight of the night bonus for the win over Albert. It was his first submission victory since 2010 and his fifth career win by submission.
The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale takes place on April 13th and is expected to take place from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
