Roland Delorme vs. Edwin Figueroa added to UFC 161

A bantamweight bout has been added to UFC 161 on June 15th in Winnipeg as Roland Delorme will meet Edwin Figueroa. The bout was announced by UFC officials on Wednesday night and the fight will take place on the preliminary card.

Delorme (8-1, 1NC) entered the UFC during The Ultimate Fighter 14 and won his first two fights in the organization, which included a submission win over Nick Denis submission in the first round at UFC on FOX 3.

After defeating Denis, he returned at UFC 149 in Calgary and was originally defeated by Francisco Rivera by knockout. However, the fight was declared a no contest after Rivera tested positive for a banned substance in his post fight drug test.

Figueroa (9-2) started his career with seven straight victories before being signed by the UFC in 2011. After losing his debut to Michael McDonald, he won back to back fights with the wins coming against Jason Reinhardt and Alex Caceres. After being out for a year due to an injury, he returned earlier this year at UFC 156 and suffered his first stoppage defeat as Rivera scored a second round TKO victory.

UFC 161 takes place on June 15th from the MTS Centre in Winnipeg and will be headlined by Renan Barao defending the interim bantamweight title against Eddie Wineland.
