A women’s bantamweight bout has been added to UFC 159 on April 27th in New Jersey as Sara McMann will face Sheila Gaff in the third ever women’s bout in the UFC.
UFC officials officially announced the fight booking on Monday and it’s unknown whether the fight will be place on the main card on pay-per-view.
McMann (6-0) was a silver medalist in freestyle wrestling in the 2004 Summer Olympics and made her MMA debut in 2011. She won three of her first four fights by stoppage and most recently defeated Shayna Baszler at Invicta FC 2 by decision.
Gaff (10-4-1) has won three straight fights and all three wins came by TKO/KO in the first round. All of her fights have taken place in Europe and recently competed in Cage Warriors. All of her ten victories have come in the first round and six of those wins are by TKO/KO.
UFC 159 takes place on April 27th from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and will be headlined by Jon Jones defending the UFC light heavyweight title against Chael Sonnen.
