Updated – The second episode of Fight Master: Bellator MMA debut last night on Spike TV and the reality show had an increase of viewership from the premiere episode last week.
Last night’s episode had 545,000 viewers which was up 26 percent from last week’s debut episode.
Also, the show had a .5 rating in the male demographic of 18-49 which was a 25 percent increase over last week. In the male demographic of 18-34, the show drew a .4 rating which was a 54 percent increase over the previous week.
When it came to the top-100 cable charts Fight Master once again failed to make the mark. Fight Master lost out to the likes of The Big Bang Theory on TBS, American Dad on ADSM, Necessary Roughness on USA Networks and rival network FX who was showing movie.
All in all though, the increase week-to-week cannot go unnoticed as in the world of reality television week one to week two is always the biggest drop off, especially for new shows. Take a look at The Rock’s The Hero on TNT. Week one ratings landed at roughly 1.5 million average viewers and week two hit only 1.1 million average viewers. Since week two the show has maintained the 1.0 to 1.1 range.
Obviously, The Hero is just one example, but if the norm is any indication it looks like Bellator is going to keep sitting around the 500k viewers for this reality show. The key question will be, can Bellator buck the norm.
We will have an updated Bellator ratings chart once the live+3 information becomes available. So as always, stay tuned for more detailed ratings analysis on TheMMAReport.com
