A wrist sprain has forced Rolles Gracie to pull out of his World Series of Fighting 3 main card bout against Dave Huckaba and replacing the fight on the main card will be a lightweight bout as Lyle Beerbohm meets Jacob Volkmann.
World Series of Fighting officials announced the injury on Wednesday and Huckaba is now off the card.
WSOF 3 takes place next Friday night from The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and will be headlined by a welterweight bout as Jon Fitch meets Josh Burkman.
“We wish Rolles Gracie a full and speedy recovery and expect to see him make his debut for World Series of Fighting soon,” World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo said. “Both Lyle Beerbohm and Jacob Volkmann are no strangers to the big stage, having fought at a world-class level in front of national audiences for years, so we are looking forward to showcasing this fantastic matchup between two lightweight stars of our sport before our NBC Sports Network audience.”
Beerbohm (22-2) has won six fights in a row since exiting Strikeforce in 2011. His last three wins have come by stoppage with two of the victories coming by rear-naked choke. Volkmann (15-4) will be making his WSOF debut in this fight and this will be his first fight since being released by the UFC.
