A bantamweight bout has been added to the UFC on FS1 card in Boston as former WEC champion Urijah Faber will face Yuri Alcantara.
The fight booking was initially reported by Case Keefer of the Las Vegas Sun as he tweeted that UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta informed him of the fight.
UFC on FS1 #1 takes place on August 17th at the TD Garden in Boston and the UFC has not announced which fight will headline the card. According to the TD Garden website, tickets for the event will go on sale next week.
Faber (28-6) has won back to back fights following a decision lost over Renan Barao for the interim bantamweight title. Since coming to the UFC, he has gone 4-2 with the two defeats coming in title fights.
Alcantara (28-4, 1NC) entered the UFC as a featherweight and dropped down to the bantamweight division in January. His fight with Pedro Nobre at UFC on FX 7 was declared a no contest due to strikes to the back of the head. He returned at UFC on FX 8 last month and defeated Illiarde Santos by knockout in the second round.
