A lightweight bout has been added to UFC 165 on September 21st as John Makdessi will meet Renee Forte.
UFC officials announced the bout on Tuesday and it will take place on the preliminary card.
UFC 165 takes place on September 21st from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto and will be headlined by Jon Jones defending the UFC light heavyweight title against Alexander Gustafsson.
Makdessi (11-2) has won back to back fights in the UFC with the wins coming against Sam Stout at UFC 154 and Daron Cruickshank at UFC 158. He is 4-2 in the UFC and this will be his sixth UFC fight to take place in Canada.
Forte (8-2) is an alum of TUF Brazil and has gone 1-1 in the promotion. After losing his debut to Sergio Moraes, he dropped down to the lightweight division and defeated Terry Etim by decision at UFC on FUEL TV 7 earlier this year.
