The opening fight on the UFC 163 preliminary card was a welterweight bout and Viscardi Andrade won his UFC debut with a first round TKO victory over Bristol Marunde.
The bout opened with the fighters striking as Andrade threw several kicks and cutting off Marunde as he circled around the cage.
Andrade used a combination to drop Marunde early in the fight and as Marunde was coming back to his feet, he landed a left hand that put him back on the ground and referee Mario Yamasaki came in to call the fight.
Andrade (17-5) has now won seven straight fights and his last five victories have now come by stoppage with three of those wins coming by TKO. Marunde (12-9) has dropped three straight fights and two of those fights have come in the UFC.
