The main event of Bellator 104 was the second semifinal bout in the season nine welterweight tournament as Rick Hawn defeated Brent Weedman by unanimous decision. 
Weedman was able to open the fight with a right hand and initiated the clinch. However, Hawn would be able to break away and they would get back to a striking battle. Hawn would land a right hand that dropped Weedman and he looked for the finish on the ground.
Weedman would be able to survive the flurry of punches and the fight would return to the feet. Hawn would continue to score with his punches as he landed several combinations before the round came to an end.
They would continue their striking bout in the second round as they countered each others strikes. Weedman was able to land multiple kicks in the round that had Hawn. Neither fighter would land a punch that would drop their opponents and Hawn landed four more strikes in the round.
In the final round, Weedman was able to land a spinning back fist and went for a standing guillotine choke. However, Hawn used an inside leg trip to take the fight to the ground and escape the submission. While on the ground, Weedman attempted to get a triangle choke, but Hawn escaped the fight went back to the feet.
The rest of the fight would remain on the feet and all three judges would score the fight for Hawn (17-2), who advances to the welterweight tournament final against Ron Keslar.
