Bellator 106 took place on Saturday night at the Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, California and the main card on Spike TV featured three title fights.
In the main event, Eddie Alvarez won a close split decision against Michael Chandler to regain the Bellator lightweight title.
Also, Emanuel Newton won the interim light heavyweight title with a decision win against Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal, and Daniel Straus upset Pat Curran to win the Bellator featherweight title.

- Curran had his six fight winning streak snapped, and four of his five career defeats have come by decision
- Joe Riggs has now won six in a row after dropping three straight in 2011
- For the eight time in his last nine fights, Mike Bronzoulis made it to the third round
- Mike Richman now has thirteen career wins in the first round, and four of his five wins in Bellator have come by TKO/KO in the first round
- Prior to Saturday night, Akop Stepanyan had never been defeated by TKO/KO and he is now 1-4 in Bellator
