According to Nielsen sources, the preliminary overnight rating for UFC Fight Night 33 main card landed at 755,000 total viewers, with a peak audience of 886,000 viewers during the main event.

The preliminary card for Fight Night 33 on Fox Sports 2 drew 132,000 viewers, up 21% over the last preliminary card on FS2. Reminder, the distribution for Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2 does not match, with FS2 having far less viewers.

These numbers are up 4.5% from the UFC Fight Night 32 (722k live), which also took place on Fox Sports 1, but was on a Saturday, so the comparison is tough.

When it came to the competition, the UFC went up against the last hour of Smackdown on SyFy (2.8 million viewers), the NBA on ESPN and some new episodes of Shark Tank (7.46 million viewers, 2.0 rating), Grimm (6.40 million viewers, 1.6 rating) and the Grammy Nominations Concert (5.30, 1.1 rating) on the national channels.
