Jason High has pulled out of his bout at UFC Fight Night 35 against Beneil Dariush due to an appendicitis and replacing him in the bout will be Charlie Brenneman.
High confirmed his injury on Twitter and this marks the first time in his career that he has been pulled out of a fight.
While the UFC has not officially announced the change, Brenneman has tweeted about his return to the UFC.
UFC Fight Night 35 will take place from the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia on January 15th and will be headlined by a middleweight bout as Luke Rockhold meets Costa Philippou.
Brenneman (19-5) has won four in a row since his exit from the UFC in 2012 and all of those fights came as a lightweight. He recently won the CFFC lightweight title in October as he defeated Kyle Baker by arm triangle choke submission.
Dariush (6-0) made his MMA debut in 2009 and five of his six wins have come by knockout or submission. During 2013, he went 2-0 and one of those wins came by armbar submission in 36 seconds against Trace Gray.
