Bellator 113 took place this past Friday night at the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas and tournament fighter David Rickels was one of three fighters receiving a medical suspension from the commission.
Martin Thomas of the The Kansas Athletic Commission confirmed the medical suspensions to TheMMAReport.com on Monday afternoon.
Bellator 113 was headlined by Emanuel Newton defeating Attila Vegh to become the unified Bellator light heavyweight champion, and the card also featured the opening round of the season ten lightweight tournament.
Out of the three fighters receiving a medical suspension, two of them were tournament fighters. Rickels has been suspended 90 days following his knockout defeat to Patricky Pitbull and Brandon Girtz received a 60 day suspension for his knockout defeat against Derek Anderson.
Also, Thomas confirmed that three fighters on the card were drug tested following their fight and the results of those drug test will not be released as their are private record, due to Kansas State laws. Through the first four events of the tenth season of Bellator, TheMMAReport.com has confirmed with commission executives that drug testing has taken place at all four events.
