The Bellator 114 Weigh-Ins took today in West Valley Center, Utah and the middleweight title fight between Alexander Shlemenko and Brennan Ward is now official after both fighters made weight.
Today’s weigh-ins came from the Fairborn Ballroom at the Embassy Suites and tomorrow’s fight card will come from the Maverik Center.
The fight card will be headlined by the title fight between Shlemenko (184.8 lbs) and season nine tournament winner Brennan Ward (184.4 lbs). After both fighters made weight, Shlemenko told Bellator color commentator that tomorrow night “will be a tough fight.”
The televised main card on Spike TV will also feature three tournament semifinals and five of the six tournament fighters were on weight. The only fighter to come in heavy on his first attempt was featherweight Desmond Green. He came in at 147.5 pounds and he was given an additional two hours to make the featherweight limit of 146 pounds, which he was able to do at 145.8 pounds.
Also missing weigh on his first attempt was preliminary card fighter Rad Martinez. He came in at 146.1 pounds for his featherweight bout against Edson Berto. He was also given an additional two hours to make weight and he was able to make weight at 145.9 pounds.
