World Series of Fighting 10 is now official for June 21st in San Jose, California and it will be headlined by Georgi Karakhanyan defending the featherweight title against Rick Glenn.
Along with the featherweight title fight, the co-main event will also be a title fight as Dave Branch meets Jesse Taylor for the inaugural World Series of Fighting middleweight title.
The fight card was officially announced by the World Series of Fighting on Saturday night and according to the California State Athletic Commission, the fight card will come from the San Jose State University Event Center.
Karakhanyan (23-3-1) became the World Series of Fighting featherweight champion last year when he defeated Lance Palmer by guillotine choke submission. It was his second straight win to come by guillotine choke submission and both of those wins have come in the World Series of Fighting. Glenn (14-2-1) was supposed to take on Karakhanyan for the inaugural title last year, but an injury pulled him out of the bout. He is currently on a seven fight winning streak and is last win came in September against Artur Rofi.
Branch (13-3) has won five of his last six fights and all of his wins in the World Series of Fighting have come by unanimous decision. His last win came against Danillo Villefort and the victory secured his spot into this inaugural middleweight title fight. Taylor (27-9) is currently on a seven fight winning streak and four of those wins have come by submission. He punched his ticket into this title fight by defeating Elvis Mutapcic in December at World Series of Fighting 7.
More details on World Series of Fighting 10 will be announced in the coming weeks by the organization.
