UFC 172 took place on Saturday night at the Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, Maryland and the fight night bonuses went to Takanori Gomi, Isaac Vallie-Flagg, Joseph Benavidez, and Chris Beal.
The bonuses were announced by UFC President Dana White at the post fight press conference and each bonus is $50,000.
The fight of the night went to Gomi and Vallie-Flagg for their lightweight bout on the preliminary card. Gomi would end up winning the fight by unanimous decision and this was his first fight in 419 days.
Gomi has now won the fight of the night bonus in two of his last three fights and this is his third overall fight night bonus. For Vallie-Flagg, this is his first fight night bonus and he is now 1-2 in the UFC.
The performances of the night went to Benavidez and Beal. Benavidez scored his first submission victory in the UFC as he defeated Tim Elliott with a guillotine choke and Beal defeated Patrick Williams with a flying knee knockout in the opening fight of the card. Benavidez has now won two fight night bonuses in the UFC and this was the official UFC debut for Beal, who was a member of Team Rousey during TUF 18.
