UFC Fight Night 40 draws 655,000 viewers in preliminary ratings

According to Nielsen sources, the UFC Fight Night 40 preliminary overnight viewership number landed at 655,000 total viewers and was the number 92 show on cable Saturday.

The last UFC Fight Night card to air on Fox Sports 1 on a Saturday night was back in February as UFC Fight Night 36 had 1.4 million viewers and the previosu UFC Fight Night card that aired on the network was on a Wednesday night as The Ultimate Fighter Nations Finale drew 641,000 viewers. With the viewership from Saturday night, the average viewership for a UFC Fight Night/Ultimate Fighter Finale main card is 852,000.

When it came to the competition on Saturday night, the fight card went up against NBA playoff game (3.1 million). There was a NHL playoff game on as well, which had 1.6 million viewers but the game ended around the same time the UFC main card on Fox Sports 1 started.
