A lightweight bout has been added to the upcoming UFC Fight Night card in Connecticut on September 5th as Joe Lauzon will meet Michael Chiesa in a battle of submission specialist.
The fight booking was initially reported by the Boston Herald and later confirmed by the UFC.
UFC Fight Night 50 will come from the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut on September 5th and the main event for the fight card has not been announced at this time.
Lauzon (23-9) is coming off a decision win in December against Mac Danzig and the victory snapped a two fight losing streak. He is 4-3 in his last seven fights and he has won a fight night bonus twelve times in the UFC.
Chiesa (11-1) has won back to back fights since being defeated last year by Jorge Masvidal. His most recent win came at UFC 173 last month as he defeated Francisco Trinaldo by unanimous decision.
