Lorenz Larkin vs. Derek Brunson official for UFC 176

A middleweight bout has been officially added to the UFC 176 card on August 2nd in Los Angeles as Lorenz Larkin will meet Derek Brunson.UFC 176 Poster

The fight booking was reported by MMAJunkie.com over the weekend and the UFC officially announced the fight booking on Monday.

UFC 176 will come from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California and will be headlined by a title rematch as Jose Aldo defends the featherweight title against Chad Mendes.

Larkin (14-3, 1NC) has dropped back to back fights and has gone 1-3 in the UFC since joining the company following the merger with Strikeforce. His lone victory in the UFC came late last night as he defeated Chris Camozzi by unanimous decision at UFC Fight for the Troops 3.

Brunson (11-3) is also a former Strikeforce fighter and he has won two of his three fights in the UFC. In most recent appearance in the octagon came in January at UFC Fight Night 35 and was defeated by Yoel Romero in the Fight of the Night bonus winner.
