A welterweight bout is the latest addition to the UFC 178 fight card in Las Vegas on September 27th as Brian Ebersole will face John Howard on the preliminary card.
The fight booking was announced by the UFC on Sunday evening.
UFC 178 will take place in Las Vegas on September 27th and will be headlined by Jon Jones defending the UFC light heavyweight title against Alexander Gustafsson.
Ebersole (50-16, 1NC) has dropped his last two fights and this will be his first fight since UFC 167 last year when he was defeated by Rick Story. Prior to his recent two straight defeats, he had won eleven in a row and four of those wins came in the UFC.
Howard (22-9) was scheduled to compete on Wednesday night at UFC Fight Night 45 against Story, but an injury pulled him out of the fight. Just like Ebersole, he will enter this fight following a defeat as he lost a decision against Ryan LaFlare at UFC Fight Night 39 in April.
