Two new fights have been announced for the UFC Fight Night 49 card on August 23rd in Tulsa, Oklahoma as Demian Maia meets Mike Pyle in a welterweight bout and Thales Leites faces Francis Carmont in a middleweight bout.
Both fight bookings were announced by the UFC on Wednesday.
UFC Fight Night 49 will come from the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 23rd and will be headlined by a lightweight bout as former champion Benson Henderson meets Rafael dos Anjos.
Maia (19-6) has won four of his six fights since dropping down to the welterweight division in 2012 and he is coming off a decision victory at The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3 Finale at the end of May. Pyle (26-9-1) will also enter this fight following a victory as he defeated TJ Waldburger in February and he has won five of his last six fights.
Leites (23-4) is currently is currently on a six fight winning streak and three of those wins have come in the UFC. His most recent win came in April as he defeated Trevor Smith by knockout at UFC Fight Night 41. Carmont (22-9) has dropped back to back fights by decision after being on an eleven fight winning streak. His most recent defeat came at UFC Fight Night 41 against C.B. Dolloway and five of his nine defeats have come by decision.
