The UFC 178 Preliminary Card on Fox Sports 1 took place this past Saturday and featured Dominick Cruz returning from injury and dominating Takeya Mizugaki for a TKO victory in 61 seconds.
According to Nielsen sources, the UFC 178 preliminary overnight viewership number for the prelims landed at 698,000 viewers and this is the up 60% from the UFC 177 number of 436,000 for the prelims.
The peak of the prelim broadcast on Fox Sports 1 on Saturday came in the 8:15-8:30 slot with 774,000 viewers and this would have been during the first fight on the televised prelims.
The UFC 178 prelims was the highest viewed show on Fox Sports 1 on Saturday as it beat MLB baseball, college football, and NASCAR Truck racing. In addition, the post fight show that started at 12:42 a.m. ET averaged 206,000 viewers. That number is up 13% from the average of 183,000 viewers of UFC Post Fight Shows to date on Fox Sports 1.
