With James Thompson out, Houston Alexander now meets Virgil Zwicker in co-main event of Friday’s Bellator 129

James Thompson pulled out of his Bellator 129 co-main event bout against Houston Alexander due to an undisclosed injury and taking his place in the bout will be Virgil Zwicker.Virgil Zwicker

The fight change was announced by Bellator on Sunday.

Bellator 129 will come from the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa on Friday night and will be headlined by a welterweight bout as Paul Bradley meets Josh Neer.

Zwicker (12-4) made his Bellator debut last year and defeated Nick Moghaddam at Bellator 99. After taking a fight outside of the promotion, he returned at Bellator 122 earlier this year against Linton Vassell and was defeated in the first round by submission.

Alexander (16-10, 2NC) has won three of his last four fights and has gone 1-1 in Bellator. After losing his Bellator debut to Vladimir Matyushenko last year, he scored his first victory in Bellator in April as he defeated Matt Uhde by TKO.
