A middleweight bout between top contenders has been announced for UFC 184 on February 28th in Los Angeles as Jacare Souza will meet Yoel Romero.
The UFC confirmed the fight booking on Thursday.
UFC 184 will come from the Staples Center and will be headlined by Chris Weidman defending the UFC middleweight title against Vitor Belfort.
Souza (21-3, 1NC) has won seven in a row since losing the Strikeforce middleweight title to Luke Rockhold. Four of those seven wins have come in the UFC, including a submission victory over Gegard Mousasi in September at UFC Fight Night 50.
Romero (9-1) is currently on a five fight winning streak and all of those wins have come in the UFC. Four of the five wins in the UFC have come by TKO/KO and his most recent victory came at UFC 178 against Tim Kennedy.
