A light heavyweight bout has been added to the UFC Fight Night 59 card in Boston as Ultimate Fighter 19 runner-up Matt Van Buren will meet Sean O’Connell.
The fight booking was announced by the UFC on Monday.
UFC Fight Night 59 will come from the TD Garden in Boston on January 18th and will be headlined by a featherweight bout as Conor McGregor meets Dennis Siver.
Van Buren (6-3) lost to Corey Anderson in the Ultimate Fighter 19 light heavyweight tournament in July by TKO in the first round. He has lost three of his last four fights and his one victory in his last four fights came in July of last year as he defeated Mojtaba Najim Wali.
O’Connell (15-6) has dropped both of his fights in the UFC since entering the promotion earlier this year. After losing his debut to Ryan Jimmo in April, he returned in June and lost a split decision to Gian Villante.
