Earlier today, the UFC announced that Caio Magalhaes and Mark Munoz would meet at February’s UFC 184 but Magalhaes pulled out of the fight on late Thursday afternoon.
The withdrawal of Magalhaes was initially reported by MMA Fighting and Magalhaes took to Twitter to explain why he will be unable to compete on the February 28th card.
“The second news we’ve had surgery scheduled for next week December 16,” Magalhaes tweeted via Google Translate. “”So I will not be 100% for the fight 28 Feb. I promise to all of you who come back strong and very motivated to face anyone who UFC by in front of me in 2015.”
With Magalhaes out of UFC 184, the UFC is now searching for a new opponent for Munoz and an announcement on his next opponent should be announced in the coming weeks.
