The commission released the medical suspensions on Wednesday and the suspensions were forwarded to TheMMAReport.com after they were requested.

Bellator 132 took place this past Friday evening at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California and was headlined by Patricio Pitbull retaining the featherweight title with a submission victory over Daniel Straus.

Karakhanyan defeated Bubba Jenkins in the co-main event of the fight card and the victory secured a title shot against Pitbull to take place later this year. According to the statues of the California State Athletic Commission, rule 390 is under a “Violation of Laws or Rules.”

Rule 390. Violations Of Laws Or Rules.

Any licensee who violates the laws of the State of California, with the exception of minor traffic violations, or the rules of the Athletic Commission, or who fails or refuses to comply with a valid order of a commission representative, or who conducts himself or herself at any time or place in a manner which is deemed by the commission to reflect discredit to boxing, may have his or her license revoked, or may be fined, suspended or otherwise disciplined in such manner as the commission may direct.

According to California State Athletic Commission Executive Director Andy Foster, Karakhanyan was fine for jumping on top of the cage and leaving. He has not paid the fine at this time per Foster and his suspension will be lifted once he pays the fine.

In addition to the suspension of Karakhanyan, every fighter on the card received at least a mandatory 7 day rest period. Two fighters on the card are facing 6 month suspensions with the fighters being Straus (right knee) and Virgil Zwicker (left thumb). Both of them can come off suspension earlier if they are cleared by a doctor.
