UFC 183 will be headlined by former UFC champion Anderson Silva meeting former Strikeforce champion Nick Diaz in a middleweight bout and John McCarthy will the third man in the cage as he was named the referee on Monday.
Nevada Athletic Commission Executive Director Bob Bennett recommended McCarthy as the referee during Monday’s Nevada Athletic Commission meeting, which was approved by the commissioners.
In addition to naming Dean as the referee, the commission assigned Sal D’Amoto, Marcos Rosales, Glenn Trowbridge as the judges for the fight.
UFC 183: Silva vs. Diaz will come from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on January 31st and the complete fight card is below.
