A heavyweight bout has been booked for UFC 185 in March as Ultimate Fighter 10 winner Roy Nelson will meet former Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem.
UFC officials announced the fight booking on Tuesday evening.
UFC 185 will come from the American Airlines Center on March 14th and will be headlined by Anthony Pettis defending the UFC lightweight title against Rafael dos Anjos.
Nelson (20-10) is 1-3 in his last four fights and is coming off a knockout defeat to Mark Hunt in September at UFC Fight Night 52. Prior to the Hunt fight, he won a performance of the night bonus at UFC Fight Night 39 with a knockout win against Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
Overeem (38-14, 1NC) has gone 3-3 since entering the UFC in 2011 and is coming off a win against Stefan Struve last month. He defeated Struve by knockout in the first round and it was his first knockout win since defeating Brock Lesnar in his UFC debut.
